Creative Metals

COURSE OUTLINE:

Sheet silver, silver wire, precious metal clay, copper and enamels can all be used to create exciting and unique design solutions. This course enables you to experiment with these materials, and optionally to combine them in ways that suit individual ideas. This is an experimental workshop, and it is envisaged that final outcomes will be predominantly but not exclusively jewellery.

The course will include short demonstrations to the group by the tutor when required, with the majority of the course taking the form of practical progress on your own personal project, and individual guidance from the tutor when required

 

COURSE PROGRAMME:

Session 1:  Observing demonstrations and discussing ways of using different materials and techniques; experimenting to produce samples

 

Session 2:  Using samples from previous session as inspiration, creating design ideas for final piece; beginning work on individual final piece

 

Session 3: Continuing and completing work on individual pieces as required

 

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT INCLUDED: Use of all tools and equipment required, sheet copper, enamelling powders

 

MATERIALS SUPPLIED AT COST: Silver sheet and wire for individual requirements
