Design DayCOURSE OUTLINE: Basic design skills enable the development of a drawing or idea into a starting point for a wide range of crafts and artistic techniques. You will discover how to create a simple design idea using found objects as inspiration, following a basic design process from initial sketches through stylisation, scale, colour schemes, repeats and abstraction. The course will include short demonstrations to the group by the tutor when required, with the majority of the course taking the form of practical progress on your own personal project, and individual guidance from the tutor when required
COURSE PROGRAMME: Session 1: Initial sketches, stylised and simplified drawings Session 2: Enlarged section of stylised drawing, different colour schemes Session 3: Repeat patterns, abstraction
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT INCLUDED: A3 sketchbook; all necessary drawing and painting equipment as required ADDITIONAL NOTES: Optional – please bring along any found objects or natural forms that interest you and might provide the basis of a design idea
