Experimental Watercolours

COURSE OUTLINE:
The workshop will explore the development of working with water-based painting media on paper, using a variety of techniques and materials. Students are asked to bring photographs or other personal imagery to work from.
The course will include short demonstrations to the group by the tutor when required, with the majority of the course taking the form of practical progress on your own personal project, and individual guidance from the tutor when required

 COURSE PROGRAMME:
Session 1: During the first stage of this workshop students will be encouraged to use a variety of paint and colour media, and explore their effects on a range of different papers

Session 2: Students will go on to work from their chosen starting point (perhaps a personal photograph or object) and produce studies using experimental techniques and materials

Session 3: Finally, collage and cutting/tearing of work and re-assemblage will be encouraged to produce a single outcome, or multiple outcomes if preferred

 MATERIALS PROVIDED:
A range of papers and water-based painting media including watercolours and inks, brushes and all other equipment required

 EXTRA MATERIALS REQUIRED AND APPROXIMATE COST:  None

 ADDITIONAL NOTES: Students are asked to bring photographs, other personal imagery or favourite objects to work from.
