Stained Glass



Stained glass has been used for centuries to create colourful windows, and can be seen in churches, public buildings and private homes. The copper foiling method was later developed by Tiffany, and used to create his famous lampshades.
You will learn all the basic techniques required to produce a small stained glass panel, using a range of coloured glass and the copper foiling method. The course will include short demonstrations to the group by the tutor when required, with the majority of the course taking the form of practical progress on your own personal project, and individual guidance from the tutor when required


Sesssion 1:
Learn how to cut and shape glass; create own design or select one from those available: choose coloured glass and cut to design provided;

Session 2: neaten and shape glass pieces; Copper foil glass pieces

Session 3: solder pieces together to form a panel; add hangers and finish off


Coloured glass, copper foil, solder, tea light holder, copper wire; Use of all tools and equipment as required
