Tiger in Pastel Pencils

COURSE OUTLINE:Students will work on a pre-prepared drawing of a tiger. Each step will be demonstrated by the tutor and repeated by students in pastel pencils. You will learn how to use layering techniques to build up the texture of the fur, and how to get realistic eyes.
The course will include short demonstrations by the tutor when required, with the majority of the course taking the form of practical progress on your own personal project, with individual guidance from the tutor when required

COURSE PROGRAMME:
A brief introduction to pastel pencils and how to prepare a drawing; demonstration on the first step - how to get the eyes right; demo on ears then repeated by students

Tackling each part of the head, building up texture on nose and fur, body markings
lunch
Building up the entire picture; brief discussion at the end about close ups

MATERIALS PROVIDED:
An outline drawing of the tiger on Pastelmat paper, and a reference photo

EXTRA MATERIALS REQUIRED:
You will need to bring with you a list of recommended coloured pastel pencils (list provided after booking received)
Also a desk easel if you have one
