 NEW! A series of 5-week courses for beginners, designed as an introduction to a wide range of creative subjects

  • Limited to 8 students per course

With 6 different courses running across the academic year, each course can be taken on its own, or together they offer the potential to study a detailed and comprehensive Art and Design course for beginners.

In this programme:
Course 1: DRAWING
Working with materials such as charcoal, pastels and pencil; and covering basic principles like perspective, shading, observation and composition
4, 11, 18 & 25 October; 1 November

Discovering relief printing techniques such as lino or wood block printing; also drypoint etching, an intaglio printmaking process; and basic screenprinting techniques
15, 22 & 29 November; 6 & 13 December

Course 3: TEXTILES
Experimenting with surface decorative textiles techniques such as batik and silk painting; basic sewing machine skills and techniques; plus hand and machine embroidery
17, 24 & 31 January; 7 & 14 February
